Isaac Benrubi, Guitar
Isaac Joseph Benrubi was born August 8, 1985 to Asher and Deborah Benrubi. On day one a potentially devastating condition attacked him inside and out of the womb. Without getting into the details, he was in bad shape upon birth, but he fought hard and won his first victory in life, which ironically enough, was his own life. Thank you Lord!

As Isaac grew, what with his Dad being a Rock & Roll DJ, his interest in music grew and for his fourteenth birthday, his parents bought him his first guitar and amp. It was then a six string love affair from there. Shortly thereafter, Mom and Dad took him into Mozingo Music to help him develop his talent.

Isaac has taken guitar lessons at Mozingo Music for about six years now. He has always felt that the great staff, quality items, and knowledgeable, talented musicians that teach and also work there have helped him, in many ways, become the musician he is today. At Mozingo Music in Ellisville, Isaac has purchased four electric guitars and won one through Mozingo Music off an internet contest! Along with those, Isaac got a classical guitar, his first bass guitar, and has even purchased his first keyboard (and has begun to take keyboard lessons) at Mozingo Music. Isaac feels that no matter what your age, Mozingo is definitely the place to go for any and all musical learning needs.

Isaac very much enjoys learning the art and science of music and being a musician through Mozingo. "I love how they teach. They make the student feel in control of his or her musical/musician destiny. They really put the student first and do all they can to help them learn. Even when I was just a beginner, they helped me to learn all that I could,

and also when I needed some advice on acquiring a new instrument, maintenance, or on what technique I was learning, or any musical issue for that matter, they were there to help me make the best decision I could. For example, when trying to decide what kind of guitar to buy, they provided me their expertise to make sure that I was happy with my new item, and also knowledgeable about it. Plus, they have some really great deals on top of the line musical instruments and gear. If you're a person of any age who wants to learn all the correct everything of playing and purchasing music Mozingo's is my recommendation."

Isaac is currently attending Webster University, and loves learning all he can about science, mathematics, and Japanese! Isaac's major is Civil Engineering with a minor in Math and Music. He listens to all kinds of music, anywhere from metal, to funk, to old time rock 'n' roll, even some strange ambient music from time to time. Isaac's more recent favorite bands are, Dream Theater, Joe Satriani, Killswitch Engage, Sigur Ros, Aerosmith, Lenny Kravitz, and he has also been know to listen to a little bit of Beethoven and Bach. Beyond music, in his free time, Isaac enjoys painting, skateboarding, rollerblading, and golf.

Now twenty years old, Isaac is rockin' and rollin' as rhythm guitarist with The Smash Band. It is an incredible honor for him to be able to play with musicians of such high caliber...and especially to stand next to the most awesome Billy Barnett. Even though he is still, in many ways, new to the band, he feels that he will continue to improve and be a great asset to the sound that The Smash Band puts forth into the sonically tuned minds of the partying audience.
